Dyslexia Therapy

Dyslexia Therapy uses a scientific based curriculum designed to meet the needs of students who are specifically struggling with reading or spelling and has proved beneficial in other areas of learning. If your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews struggle in reading comprehension or applying English spelling patterns, then they may greatly benefit from this program.

We use the Orton-Gillingham approach giving explicit, direct and repetitive instruction that incorporates multi-sensory teaching methods encouraging students to discover conceptual thought by linking listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The program is cumulative, meaning that new information is built from previously learned material as concepts continually resurface. Decoding is balanced is balanced with student comprehension are the mechanics of writing are balanced with creativity and composition. This extensive program covers many aspects of language acquisition and extends from basic skill to sophisticated levels of linguistic knowledge.

Students begin with Basic Language Skills 1 with the option to move into Basic Language Skills 2 and 3 as desired by the parents. Each therapy session meet a minimum of 4 days a week for 50 minutes with the following topics covered:
